Hello! My name is Miss Kennedy and I am going to be your Sustainable Agriculture teacher. I began teaching at WPA in the Fall of 2018. I teach 8th Grade Science and Sustainable Agriculture Production I. I love teaching agriculture classes because we have a collective, "learning to do, doing to learn" style of pedagogy. In this class, you will be exposed to many hands-on learning opportunities.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Management: Agribusiness from the University of Mount Olive in the Summer of 2010. I am also working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction: Urban Education. I cannot wait to share my love of agriculture with you! I grew up in a small community known as Scott's Store, North Carolina and taught in Greene County and Duplin County before making my way to WPA. I was in FFA all through high school and served as Chaplin and Vice-President. In college I was in CFFA and served as Chaplin. FFA is in my blood as my father was also a member in high school. As a child I showed goats at the local fair with 4-H. I also raised donkeys, mini horses, mules (riding and driving), cows and a duck. I love coffee, music, UGA football, Luke Combs and my son! I enjoy spending time with him at the river and lake during the summer. I am very excited to meet all of you! |
